Our company Sepsi Charolais LTD. was established in Sfântu Gheorghe, Covasna County in 2011. This is a greenfield investment, which activity is raising Charolais cattle. Our farm is in the village Zalan at an altitude of 630 m in the eastern mountains of Baraolt, in a very picturesque area 10 km away from Sfântu Gheorghe.

The name of our company reflects our commitment to the most widely used cattle breed.

In the region we are a pioneering company, the development of our business exclusively relies on cattle breeding. Choosing Charolais was based on the main advantages of this breed, namely:

• good adaptability and flexibility to the climate conditions of the area

• utilizing forage at high level

• superior digestion compared to other breeds

• nutritional flexibility

• being easily fed by roughages (pasture grasses, hay, straw)

• dietetic and organoleptic meat quality traits

To these benefits our commitment to this breed is added, it is docile and easy to be raised, having a good reputation and preferred by the cattle breeders.

In order to genetically increase the herd, approximately 30% of the herd is artificially inseminated every year with French semen, which comes from bulls of high breeding value.

All these facts and qualities led us to purchase high quality animals from Abaúj Charolais LTD farm in Hungary in 2012. The animals adapted to the local conditions, the calving took place without any problems, they well-adjusted to lower winter temperatures. Currently we have 160 cows and calf heifers, 6 breeding bulls and many calves.

Our primary objective is to increase the capital by selling these Charolais cattle with high biological value, bred in genuine local conditions, excellent for further breeding.
